Sturdy Stove

When my family goes car camping we cook almost exclusively over fire or we use coals with a camp Dutch oven. However, it's nice to have something to cook on under a canopy when it rains and to rapidly get the coffee going first thing in the morning. So I was looking for a compact, high output, sturdy/stable stove to put in our kit. This sits very low to the table with a very wide pot rest, this sturdy setup is nice when you have small children running around and bumping tables. I can put a 10-in Dutch oven on this thing and saute veggies no problem. Back in the day we used to use the classic two burner gas camp stove; for anyone who does that, I would recommend grabbing two of these instead and saving room when packing up the family in the car. I have a backpacking stove, backpacking pot, and multiple gas lanterns from fire Maple. I think some of their designs are pretty novel and their price is pretty hard to beat.

Indispensible Cooking Gear

This little stove provides impressive temperature range and control beyond any other system I've used. It packs small and light and it's container doubles as a cover for the gas can. I've cooked well over one hundred meals with it since I live on the road without any indication of wear on the hose fittings, the burner, the piezo lighter and the frame.

heavy - 277, box plus another 110 grams, definitely not worth taking on a trip, a bag will be enough.

Just what I needed.

I purchased this stove and just had a chance to try it out on a beautiful sunny day by the lake. Despite a pleasant and constant breeze, this little stove worked beautifully - igniting with one click of the built in igniter (which I LOVE) and performing exceptionally even under windy conditions (the reason why I bought the stove in the first place). The little teeth on the stove platform legs hold and grip everything from my little toasting grill to pots and pans, and I really appreciate the way in which the stove canister both holds the stove and becomes a cover for your fuel can during use. The only tiny detail I can mention for improvement is I wish the little hole on one end of the plastic canister that the stove fits in had a “plug” of some sort so that no dirt or debris could get in when the stove is packed up. Otherwise, I love this stove and look forward to putting it through its paces during the colder months, when the fuel line is sure to help fuel flow when temps drop. Wonderful product, high quality, highly recommended.

Quality folding stove

Pros: Solid build quality - folds out without any issues. The wider legs make a very stable support for pots and pans, far more balanced and less slipping than common lightweight hiking stoves. The knob to adjust the flame allows good control from simmering to full power. Piezo ignition is reliable and works every time. The burner itself produces a good flame and has a shield which somewhat protects it from wind as well as the ground below from heat.

Best feature is it fits perfectly inside my 1.2L ultralight pot for compact storage.

Cons: The braided hose doesn't rotate so it can get twisted in storage but this is a minor issue.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our FMS-125 PRO Stove with Electric Ignition. We're glad to hear that you're enjoying its solid build quality and stable support for pots and pans. We're also happy to know that the knob and piezo ignition are working well for you. Thank you for mentioning the compact storage feature, we designed it with convenience in mind. We appreciate your feedback on the braided hose and will definitely take it into consideration for future improvements. Happy camping!

All in One.

I was looking for a reliable and solid stove for quite a while when I saw the Fire Maple Sale and a stove having all the qualities I wanted.
Strong support , a nice wide wind resistance burner , electronic lighting , Remote canister and packs up nice and tight in a small storage case. But most of all has a reputation for longevity. The FMS-125-PRO is the one was lookin for and now have. Plus I even had a savings.

Great product! Super compact works with the majority of the canisters you can get from bcf, bunnings and anaconda. Puts out a super hot flame. I had no trouble boiling water in less than 2 minutes in a pot

Good camping stove

Great camping stove. Works wonderfully with plenty of power for larger pots. Only con would be the storage container the stove comes in is complete trash. Great concept with storage box but not properly built. Won’t thread on properly. Shipping from fire maple takes weeks but that is an understandable being it’s coming from overseas. Stove is well built and works great. Would give 5 stars if storage container was better.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our FMS-125 PRO Stove. We're happy to hear that it works wonderfully for you and has plenty of power for larger pots. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the storage container and we will definitely take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. We appreciate your understanding regarding the shipping time from overseas, and we're glad to know that the stove itself is well-built and performing well. Thank you for your support and we hope you continue to enjoy your camping experience with our stove. Have a great day!

Fms 125

Love this stove when I need more than my Torch or Greenpeak can handle. It's bigger but that's ok. Using a decent fry pan on it is definitely possible. Highly recommend all Firemaple stuff!

Awesome stove

Took this stove (FMS 125-Pro) to Philmont for our 12 day trek into the North country and South country averaging an altitude of over 9000 feet for the duration. It worked amazing. Easy start, bought the wind shield to go with it and it heated our 8 qt pot flawlessly every day. Would highly recommend. For any backpacking trip. But definitely get the wind shield.

Great

Great little stove that packs down small. Too heavy for hiking but use in my car with the pan.

Fms 125 pri stove

Yep i really like the stove, - the first hiking stive I've ever owned [ i usually light a fire ] i live in an environment where it is often cracked dry for months on end , - having a means other than fire to cook on became a priority. Used it mainly kayak camping. I bought the 2 litre kettle / pot as well to go with it. Works well and although not the compact ultra light versions of fire maple stoves and pots, , being in a kayak I can afford the weight and space . Although in winter i still will have a fire, the redt if the time, I have a cup of chai ready by the time i would be still collecting wood ! Would recommend.

Every backpacker should carry two.

Just used this weekend for an over night hiking trip. Was easy to pack and easy to use. Wide enough to be stable when using most any pot/pan. We had three hikers and the only thing that could have been better was having another FMS - 125 with us.
