What type of camping is the FMS-125 Quad designed for?

It is designed for 2–4-person group camping and campsite cooking with medium-to-large cookware. Its four-point support is suited to shared meals prepared with larger pots, grill pans and woks.

How is it different from the FMS-125 Pro?

The FMS-125 Quad adds four-point cookware support, an 8 kg load rating, an integrated preheat tube for inverted-canister use, and separate heat shields for the gas hose and folding piezo igniter.
The FMS-125 Pro remains available as a separate three-leg model.

What cookware can I use with it?

Use cookware at least 4.5 in / 11.5 cm in diameter and no heavier than 17.6 lb / 8 kg. It works with camp pots, Feast 4 cookware, the Portable Grill Pan and suitable woks.
Always center the cookware and confirm that it sits securely before ignition.

How does inverted-canister mode work?

The preheat tube helps vaporize liquid fuel before it reaches the burner, enabling inverted-canister operation at up to 5.3 kW. Ignite with the canister upright and preheat for at least five minutes before carefully inverting it.
Never invert the canister during ignition.

Does it have a pressure regulator?

No. The FMS-125 Quad does not have a pressure regulator. The component labeled “Flame Regulator” in the instruction manual is the manual flame-control valve used to adjust gas flow and heat output.

What fuel canisters does it use? Is fuel included?

It uses EN417 threaded butane-propane mixture canisters.
Fuel is not included and must be purchased separately.

Can I use it with Petrel G2, G3 or the Ramen Pot?

G3: No, not recommended.
G2: Yes, with careful positioning near the edge of the supports.
Ramen Pot: Yes. It can sit securely on the stove, but the supports do not engage with the heat-exchanger slots.

A very well made, powerful base camp stove that is a great alternative to the transitional Coleman still propane stoves and is much cheaper than other isobutane stoves with the same portability

Works great

My friend and I raced his Jetboil to my Fire Maple. Not only was my Fire Maple almost $70 cheaper, it was only about 15 seconds behind the Jetboil in boil time. And I blame that on the fact that I didn't have my temp all the way up. And I've got a couple other Fire Maple products that are just as impressive. Fully recommend.

Does what says it will do

This is a very good little stove for a great price. We used this and a Trangia with a gas adapter for three weeks of family camping this year instead of our usual Coleman gas double burner. First off it is very light and compact. But the best thing about it is how stable it is-- it feels secure when I put a full sized pot or frying pan on it. It is also very powerful-- super fast at boiling water in a kettle or pasta pot, and this is what we used it for the most. While there is some control with the valve, we did find it challenging to not burn things when cooking with this stove, even when using heavy cast iron, so we ended up using the Trangia for more delicate cooking. The piezo ignition is a nice benefit-- we didn't end up using it on a regular basis because we didn't love having our fingers right under the burner like that and using a lighter was more comfortable, but there was a point in our trip when our lighters were running out of fluid and the piezo lighter was handy. So overall, it was a great stove, and I plan to take it again on our next trip!

I love that it is very light and compact. We are using it for car camping but are short on space, so this fits in our kit and is useful when it is windy. It is a little odd that the metal wire connectors on the endsjust fall out if you turn it upside down, I might try to fix this by bending the end, but I haven't tried that yet.
