great for weekend camping

I have used the firemaple maverick wood stove to do some sausages in a pan, I find that the stove gives good wind protection and gives off a powerful amount of heat once you establish a fire.
Assembly is really easy and can be done in under 30 seconds once you know what to do.

compact and easy to put together

it comes flat packed in a sturdy storage pouch, it is lightweight and perfect for putting in a hiking bag without creating lots of weight or taking up much space. It is quick and easy to put together and nice and sturdy when built, perfect for a days hiking

Fantastic little pop up fire

There are 5 pieces all together made out of a good quality strong metal, it very simply slides together, starting with the three sides, the base and then the cooking stand.

I found it very easy to get the fire starting and maintaining it through the hole in the side.

Cleanup is nice and simple and once it has cooled down it folds down and stores away anywhere without taking up any room.

Great small & light weight stove!

I first used my FireMaple Maverick Stove (square) on a cold, rainy night when a large fire was out of the question. Due to the size of this stove, I was able to use it under my Jeep's awning, sitting on an aluminum stool. Once the wood burned down to coals, we dropped a couple of burgers on and they turned out amazing with the wood smoke flavoring we all love! I was also impressed with the openings on 2 sides that allow for adding wood while cooking.
My only issue with the stove is that you need to be very careful with the grate as it does not "lock" into place and can move around when flipping the burgers. Also, with the fold in the middle of the grate, take extra caution using a spatula or tongs to avoid any collapse.

Its pretty cool

Its not exactly what it looks like in the adds. The grate doesnt fit well or lock on so if any food sticks to it its a pretty fast mess. It dont take much for the grate to fall off of the stove. It works better with a pan or pot than as a small grill. Its heavier than I thought it would be however due to that extra weight it is pretty sturdy. Nice case and packs away flat in a pack. It has its place and as usual with firemaple its a good product.

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback on the Maverick Wood Stove. We apologize if it did not meet your expectations based on the advertisement. We appreciate your input on the grate and will pass it along to our team for improvements. However, we are glad to hear that it is sturdy and comes with a handy case. We hope it still serves its purpose well for you. Thank you for choosing Firemaple!

Need to light the fire

Although I haven't burned wood in this stove yet, i think this it will work for what I want. It goes together easily; I didn't follow the directions since it was pretty obvious. It will fit in my pack easily for day hikes because it packs so flat, and is of the right size for cooking on the grate or in a pan. Due to the angle/openness of the side panels, care must be taken to clear an area for the fire pit so that hot embers don't start a fire outside the stove. The openings are quite large and embers will certainly fall out. Altogether, I think this stove will work exactly for what I want it for, and I will be pleased!

Customer Service

Although I have not been able to make time to fire this stove up, I did assemble it with ease and saw how sturdy it is. Quality is key for this stove as well as the other purchased gear. Although I know this stove will last me through upcoming trips, it was impressive customer service that will always bring me back to Fire Maple. Continued Success !

Strong portable stove.

Beats creating a primitivel fire pit in many outdoor situations. There is physical weight to bare, but one gets simplicity, versality, and less environmental impact.

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but the construction seems strong and well made. The addition of the grill will make great warmth and lunch addition to our next snowshoeing adventure.

Great product, easy to assemble and a nice size for a small group

Great size, light weight, ez to assemble. It has been very stable in use. Easily fits larger Ti or Stainless pots for small groups. Keeps fire contained and is fairly wind proof.

Well made stainless steel firepit, can be assembled in less than 1 minute

Overall, this is well made, once assembled it will provide a stable firepit to house a single kettle or pan. I would also like to add a side note to the seller - thank you for the excellent customer support.

Perfect

The first burn made it patina very nicely and its big enough to have a full fire and small enough I've made it a permanent part of my backpack for hiking and fishing/hunting

Light, thin and stable.

This is pretty light and easy to put together.
At just over 600g and few cm think when folded, this can be easily stored away or carry around in a backpack.
This is not only for camping. Might use it along side with the BBQ, to have some hot tea or simply pan fry some meat or veg.
The stainless steel plates are quite strong, and no shape edges, but I would still use gloves to assemble/dismantle it.
Good price

Very practical

Easy to slot together but very sturdy. It does require quite small pieces of wood, so take a pair of secateurs wih you. It does get very hot quite quickly, and I bought a kettle for use with it. It boiled quite quickly and I was able to make tea.
One side has a large gap to keep the fire fed with fresh wood.

Stable, simple, robust and effective.

Good; well designed; you could use this to boil water or cook over.

Simple to build, it forms a stable fireplace, with access from one side to add more firewood, and the top if you've nothing on it.

Folded down it slips into an included high density nylon case, handy because the stove tends to get covered in soot and ash.

It's made of stainless steel, so corrosion isn't an issue - mines been sat in my garden for the last 10 days with no issues.

The key to a successful fire is to build suitably large pile of dry wood cut/snapped it to the right length.

Assemble the stove but don't put the top pan support on yet.

Pop your kindling in and get the fire going, progressively add larger bits of wood. It will smoke at first, but once it gets going (assuming you're using dry wood) it will burn hot enough that it stops smoking. pop the pan support on, trying not to get burned, and you're good to go.

It's not lightweight (662g) nor small, particularly when compared to gas or meths stove options; I wouldn't use it for backpacking. However, for bushcraft or just a pleasant alternative back at camp, it's a nice alternative.

Would the 4 sided Maverick Wood Stove be able to hold a small cast iron pan with meat in it?
