With its weight of 410 grams, it is much larger in size than my small frying pan weighing 370 grams. Of course, they didn't think of something with the handle. I don't know yet if I need such a large one for solo hikes - we'll see...

First impression is excellent looking and feeling stainless steel pan. The handle feels good, but just so you know, it's not detachable. I think it's nice that way. I like the whole design of the pan. It feels good quality and practical. The pan has some weight, but that's how it should be, in my opinion. I'm using this mostly with car camping and shorter trips, not ultra long hikes or anything like that. I want a solid pan that lasts to the next generations and you can fry multiple beef steaks with. I think you can use this pan on an open fire as well, since the aluminium layer is in between the stainless steel layers on the bottom (outer layer is steel). You can probably put this pan in a dishwasher as well. Pouring beak is nice to have. The handle and its moving lock part feels good. You can easily turn the pan and the handle will hold. Handle location on the bottom gives a solid feel to the pan. I have a Msr stainless steel Alpine plate and it fits as a lid over this Firemaple pan if needed. I couldn't find a stainless steel plate from Firemaple (hint!). Msr frying pan is lighter and smaller and the outer layer is aluminium I think. It didn't feel as solid as this Firemaple pan, so I chose Firemaple and I'm very happy with the choice. I haven't used the pan yet, but I bet it will be great.

Great scrambled eggs for breakfast!

It’s pretty hard to mess up scrambled eggs. Unless they stick all over your pan and burn. First time using this frying pan for a recent solo camp with my dog. I made scrambled eggs and Turkey hotdogs and it was perfect. Great experience, compact, easy to clean and didn’t disappoint.

Seriously impressed by Antarctic steel frypan. It cooks even better than many other traditional cookware I have at home. As a matter of fact, I used it both outdoors and at home, both with excellent results. This pan is great both on heat distribution and (perhaps not advertised enough) heat retention.. you can do some proper chef cooking in it. I made genuine carbonara on it, by the river in chill and a bit of windy conditions (nothing crazy but strong enough to demand a windshield for the stove). The guanciale turned out perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Seriously impressive considering it was outdoors. The pan is also lightweight and it packs small enough to fit inside a backpack, no problem. It is also possible to use the space inside the pan to pack more stuff, like a kitchen towel or a sponge for cleaning. A lid could be useful and I made mine by using a steel plate which I operate safely with a pair of tweezers, which I use for cooking anyways. All in all, now that I have this pan I'm wondering how did I live without it for so long!

Bought for indoor use on a gas stove, this pan has performed perfectly. The folding handle functions well and was great for the space saving I was after. With how it has held up for my use I have no doubt it would perform just as well outdoors over an open flame.

The bottom is thick, that's exactly what I needed.

A good frying pan for camping. On small burners, the thick bottom prevents burning in the center. The handle doesn't burn on a campfire. The only downside is its weight.

Externally - super 👍, it's not hard to imagine the handle. Fast delivery, less than 2 weeks to Moscow.

Excellent quality of the frying pan, but the cover is awful; it would be better to make a bag instead of a mesh.

SS 8 " frypan (Antarcti)

Fried up fish (walleye), medium heat,...no burning, easy clean-up. Light carrying. The handle worked flawlessly, not hot to the touch,..(mesh carrying case a bonus).

To Moscow in 10 days. The price is excellent, the seller gave a personal discount, I already bought a second one. Completely satisfied, the frying pan is the best you can buy for camping. The bottom is thick, nothing burns. Sometimes the lid is missing. I use the same one at home in the kitchen. I recommend it to everyone. Chinese brothers are the best! Prosperity in business.

Looks really good, quite solid for its size. If you are after lightweight this one is not for you. This is for motorcycle camping so i'm ok with it. Wish it came with a lid, had to order one separately

Excellent Frypan

There are many good frypans out there and many come with accessories, Although Fire maple does not come with any accessories it does have a small spout for pouring off liquid, which is a nice feature you can add your own accessories as needed or that suits you.

My Favorite Pan

The thick base makes it way better to cook with than any other pan I've ever used. Rarely get issues with stuff sticking and burning. It would be nice to see a vesion without a handle as my standard trangia pot lifter works just fine and this would save a bit more weight and make it more balanced when using it on a tall stove.

LOVE THEM

I love my new stainless steel frying pan - eggs and back on this morning and now coking a tbone. Fast and doesn’t stick. I would love a lid for them though, even as an additional extra. So compact and light to pack! The other thing on the stove tonight is the billy with the steam insert. Got potato in the bottom for mash, and my vegies for the night in the top. A deeper steamer would be great. It boiled and cooked so fast! But it was difficult getting the basket out whilst hot. I think 2 little l shaped stainless steel wire lifters that could go in the steamer basket holes would solve thi problem. I might look at making my own. :)

Superb customer service!

The products arrived in a timely manner and when one of the products did not arrive, Fire Maple was quick to replace it. I am very pleased with the quality of their products as well!
