It works very well and is comparable to jetboil and other more pricy options on the market for less. Not know how long lasting the X2 is I can’t comment on that, but ultimately a great product. My only complaint after a fair bit of use is the rivet heads for the handle protrude into the pot portion just enough to make it challenging to get the burner out of pot after storage. The only change needed for this is a flatter head rivet for the handle. Hence the 4 Stars. Otherwise I love it for the money.

Good pot, especially for it's size and weight. The biggest downside is that the large diameter of the pot makes it impossible to see the stove arms when the pot is directly on top of them and locating the pot correctly is a bit tricky. I'm happy to have it for short trips but it could get really annoying after a few days.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the Fire Maple X2 Pro. The system works well, is efficient, and is convenient to use.

The only thing I would improve is the attachment/locking mechanism. Sometimes it can stick a little, so I think the mechanism could be more precise and better refined. This may also depend on the conditions of use.

I would also appreciate a more durable storage bag. Mine somehow developed a small hole while simply being carried in my backpack, even though the conditions of use were completely normal and careful. I’m not really sure how it happened.

Apart from that, I’m very happy with the system and overall I think it’s a great product.

Carried it for 5 days in the south Sierras on the PCT. Seems well made and reduced my carry by several ounces. The bad news: 1) very hard to light with my piezo lighter (which was sparking, and works very well with my old remote stove), 2) very fussy fit with the Petrel 600ml pot. Finally gave up on fitting the pot to the legs of the stove. 3) the tripod legs are finicky to fold up.

The stove legs should be indexed with detents so they open to exactly the same positions (mating with the Petrel) every time. I would consider making the Petrel's slots a V shape as well. Finally, the Petrel pot base has sharp edges at the slots. Should be tumbled or sanded.

These are really slick containers. Useful for much more than coffee. Fresh herbs, shredded Parmesan, nuts or any other dry good that you want to store a pre-measured amount. Each side opens easily. Seeing through the clear plastic is handy. If there is a drawback, it’s probably that these don’t nest the most efficiently in the kitchen box or bag. But that’s minor for the utility and touch of class these bring.

We absolutely love our little kettle from Fire Maple!
It’s cute and extremely functional.
We have it in our coffee kit to boil our water for pouring over fresh ground coffee beans in the forest!
It will also work well to boil water for our dehydrated meals.
It packs really small and love how lightweight it is.
I highly recommend it!
