Q1: Does the handle lock up or is it loose?
A: The handle is very cleverly designed that you can confidently leave it in the upward position if you wish as it has a lip that the handle can rotate into. This lip has been specifically made to accommodate a upward position. Otherwise you can rotate to where you like.

Q2: The stainless steel description is double. Please answer accurately whether it is 304 or 18-8.
A: SUS304 is equal to 18-8 stainless steel. So it's 304 and yes, it's also 18-8.

Q3: Does this kettle whistle when boiling?

Works as Expected

Kettle is great, heats up quickly, handle is cool enough that I don’t need anything to pick it up and boils enough water to fill up my coffee press while camping! Couldn’t ask for anything more out of a kettle.

Tailgate kettle

Last week I ordered the Antarcti 0.6L/20.3 .oz food grade 304 stainless steel kettle from Firemaple, got it in the mail today. Nice quality kettle for heating water for my coffee, hot chocolate, oatmeal or grits on my outdoor adventures. I got it on sale for $22.95 and I love it and works great with my alcohol stove.

It is what I was looking for for my backcountry camper van.. Small size but heavy duty well made material so it won,t get busted rolling around on floor while off roading..

Love the 1.5L kettle

I used my kettle for a three person trip last weekend. I generally use a Toaks 750 when I am alone but wanted more capacity for three people. I did not time it, but the time to boil water for meals and coffee or tea seemed fine. I like that the stainless steel holds the temperature better than titanium. The kettle weighs 10 oz more than my regular pot and the trade-off was worth it. I packed my stove, coffee and oatmeal in the kettle. I also have a Fire Maple lantern and the Polaris stove. I am happy with my Fire Maple products and recommend them. Their G2 pot is next on my list!
