The G2(750ml,184.5g/6.5oz) has a larger capacity and wider diameter than the G3(600ml,161.6g/5.7oz), allowing it to fit a standard 230g flat gas canister.
Choose the G2 for versatility and higher volume, or the G3 for portability and reduced weight.
No, the 600ml/750ml measurement refers to the maximum usable capacity. The actual total capacity is slightly larger.

1st fire maple heat exchanger 600ml pot arrived super fast shipping. My bozo move was all MY fault.I started up my Soto Windmaster stove full blast placed bare pot on stove and was reading meal bag directions. I looked down into empty pot and I had blown/melted a hole Thru bottom of empty pot exchanger. I reordered my 2nd pot firemaple heat exchanger pot 600ml . It arrived in record time again. This time I make sure my liquid is ALWAYS in pot before stove is lite. I used this pot over 5 days Thru hike Isle Royale September 2024 and it worked flawlessly. My Soto Windmaster stove with tri flex feet nests inside along with 100g canister, lighter, toaks collapsable spoon,fork,knife, inside firemaple pot. Lid and handle snap down to keep everything tightly together. More then impressed with this set up. I would recommend this to other people to purchase. BONUS NOTE: NEVER heat up any pot without liquid in it first. My trail mistake to pass on ! 🤦♂️

I love my Firemaple Petrel pot with the Soto Windmaster stove. I just got back from two fall trips in the High Sierras, both in windy & cold conditions. It's crazy how well this combo works--maybe 2-3 minutes for a full pot of water to boil (coffee + oatmeal!), and maybe a minute for just a cup of coffee water. 11,000 BTUs on the Windmaster + the heat exchanger on the Petrel = great performance!
This was an upgrade from a JetBoil, which is (1) much heavier, and (2) works less well in windy, cold, high-latitude conditions (only 4,500 BTU). Plus, the combo of Soto + Petrel costs <$100, while the JetBoil Stash costs ~$150.
The Windmaster + a microfibre cloth + a 110g fuel canister easily fit inside the Petrel pot. Great backpacking kitchen!
TIP: Get the Soto Windmaster from ZPacks; they include the triflex with it (the normal four-plex won't work with the Petrel pot).

Using this with the GreenPeak II Gas Stove | Pressure-regulator | 3.4oz | 2600W and the neoprene sleeve. Boils water fast at a low setting on the stove--and at altitude. I've used this mostly above 7,000 feet and just the other day at nearly 12,000 feet at Lake Katherine in the Pecos Wilderness of New Mexico. I've been surprised how fast my water boils every time.

Porduct as advertised. Shipping good. This pot gives you 85% of what jet. Boil gives you for a fraction of the price. The mess kit will not slip off the stove with this product. Only down side is you can not hang it from the tent ceiling wile wating out a storm.

I was in the Denver VA Hospital at the time the product was delivered. I think it will be a great addition nto my hunting equipment (I use horses, to hunt elk in very cold conditions). I’ll need time to really test it. As of this writing, I use a walker. Not riding a horse anytime soon.

Just used it on a coastal backpacking trip. Stable and boils water very quickly using less fuel than any other stove I've used. Super light and compact as well. Just don't overfill the pot as you'll get splashed with boiling water trying to turn off the valve.

I had heard a lot about the Petrel Ultralight Pot with heat exchanger 600ml - so decided to grab one and try it out with my backpacking group. Really liked the pot and cannister stand but the heat exchanger did not fit the base of the pot correctly. I have to push it before putting the pot on each time. Might just be a one off but I specifically purchased the 'set' to get a good fit.
