Why choose this remote stove over a canister-top stove?

The burner sits lower to the ground and the fuel canister remains separate from the cooking platform. This generally gives pots and pans a lower center of gravity, while the valve can be adjusted without reaching beneath the cookware.

A canister-top stove may still be preferable when the lowest possible total weight and fastest setup matter more than the lower cooking position.

Does it support inverted-canister use?

No. The stove does not have a preheat tube and must be used with the fuel canister upright.

Does it have built-in ignition or pressure regulation?

No. It requires a lighter or match and does not include a pressure regulator.

Which Petrel pots does it fit?

The pot supports fit the base slots of the Petrel G3 600ml, Petrel G2 750ml, and Petrel Ramen Pot 800ml.

Position all three supports correctly inside the slots and confirm the pot sits level before opening the valve.

What can I pack inside each Petrel pot?

- Petrel G3: the folded stove fits inside, but not beside a fuel canister.
- Petrel G2: the stove and a standard 230g canister fit inside together.

Is it suitable for winter camping?

It is primarily a three-season stove. Because it uses an upright canister and has no preheat tube, performance can decline as the canister becomes cold or loses pressure.

For sustained sub-freezing use, choose a stove with a preheat tube and approved inverted-canister operation.

How should I position the included windscreen?

Place the screen around the burner area while keeping the fuel canister, valve, and hose connection outside the enclosure. Leave ventilation gaps and monitor reflected heat.

Never tightly wrap a windscreen around the canister.
