Game changing cold conditions stove!

I am immensely impressed by this stove.

Two massive wins; an almost empty canister, cold conditions and it roared, while the jetboil was nearly barely alive!
Both those conditions would usually require preheating the canister and then struggling.

Side by side timing comparison with cold almost empty canister - jet boil 1st, took over 4 mins to not even boil 500ml of water. (Yes it usually does it incredibly fast with a full warm canister.)
But .. this stove, same canister and temp .. boiled 500ml of water in 1:58. That’s the performance I want in challenging conditions!
It is really compact. It folds down nicely into a solid plastic box which will keep it perfectly protected.
The 3 arms feel solid when folded out. I’m quite confident to put a larger pot on.

The air inlet that allows it to burn so well does make it somewhat noisey, but given its performance it simply doesn’t matter.

I’m so stoked I can now use gas at altitude and in the cold and use the last of the cylinder. Amazing.

I love it!

After using the polaris 2.7oz for the last couple years this stove is very impressive. Id love to see a titanium version in the future.

Polaris stove and g3 pot

First time using the Polaris stove and the G3 pot. Easy setup. Great regulated heat. Just the right size for my French press. Nothing beats that first cup of coffee in the morning. Highly recommend both the Polaris stove and the Petrel G3.

5/5

Feels excellent. It comes with a solid plastic box and when you put it inside the box, it wont shake at all inside there. Well measured by the designers. The materials seem to be great quality. The flame radius is bigger than on some other brands stoves. This flame radius size feels quite optimal in my opinion, so you'll be able to heat the pots and pans evenly. What I like most is that the 3 folding wings that hold the pots on top of the stove feel very sturdy and clip into their position very smoothly. With some other brands the wings feel clumsy and weak. Having 3 folding wings is the optimal design, since it will keep the pots stable even if they weren't somehow exactly on the same level, depending on terrain etc. Overall well thought and manufactured product, I recommend, but haven't used it out in the nature yet. I bought this Polaris stove, a 8" fry pan and a 1,5L pot. All 3 are stainless steel.

This is a good stove.

This is a really good stove and since it stores away super small and is lightweight, a great option to take on any kind of camping or hiking trip. Works well even in cold weather! Greetings from Sweden
