Blade 2 Titanium Remote-Canister Backpacking Stove

Excellent burner! Everything arrived intact, even the box was undamaged. The preheating tube should solve the problem of gas freezing at sub-zero temperatures, but I haven't tested it in practice yet.

As described. Haven't used it yet. It's lightweight and pack's down small.

I have used this stove many times while out backpacking or day hiking and have never had any issues with it. It fires right up every time and I love the fact that it has such a stable platform to take on larger pots. (larger than the standard 750 ml) I also enjoy the fact that it is generally safer to use than a traditional "sit on top" backpacking stove. I combine this stove with the titanium cup and it makes a perfect combination in my opinion.

The stove is designed so that the block at the bottom that the hose connects to, and that carries the generator pipe, gets very hot. The hose is constructed from a rubber that melts from the brass barb on the inside, and leaks gas.

The stainless steel braid doesn't help because the heat damage is internal causing the barb fitting to leak, and eventually fall out.

To prevent this the hose would either need to be resigned using a heat resistant rubber, or a pipe should be added to the block to move the hose connection further away, and keep it cooler.

I couldn't find a replacement hose, but even if there was one, I don't think it would help unless it was different construction.

It's a shame because otherwise the stove is stable, light and hot.

Absolutely amazed with how good this powerhouse of a backpacking stove performed in extremely windy conditions.
Location tested: Highest Campsite in Texas (Bush Mountain, Guadalupe Mountains National Park.
Weather: Low 30's, wind gusts 50-60 MPH during stove utilization, 60-70 MPH over night.
No need for a wind barrier, worked so good we even used it as a campfire/outdoor heater while we ate our dinner.

I've owned several fire maple products, this is by far my favorite.

Lightweight, great boiling time, and the ability to simmer...All around fantastic stove! Highly recommend and was great during our backpacking trip in Dolly Sods WV.

The lightness of the burner itself is slightly overshadowed by the thickness and weight of the hose and valve. It works well.

Hello, can this be used in temps below 25 degrees Fahrenheit?

Excellent stove. Personally I would prefer it without the pre-heat tube as I only wanted it for summer trips. The pre-heat tube is meant for winter conditions and not needed outside winter.

I recently used this stove on a 9-day backpacking trip on the AT. Temperatures fluctuated between 27 and 70 degrees. The stove performed great every time. It is now my primary stove when backpacking.

I am looking forward to use it.

Haven't used the stove only tested it at home so far, have a trip booked in a weeks time where this stove will get a good thrashing.

whilst i did not buy this stove for backpacking, it is in the back of my 4WD and just back from a 4000 km trip through far western New South Wales and Queensland. Used it for all of my cooking and coffee making. not my first product from First Maple but consistently impressed by their quality and pricing.

I bought this for my grandsons B/C I wanted a STABLE stove with a remote canister. (Teenagers are the most irresponsible beings on the planet.)
The Blade 2 is great for cold mornings where canister inversion is a necessity to get a flame going. That's why the upsiced down U-shaped tube os doing by the burner, to heat the liquid into from an inverted canister into a gas.

Great little stove for my bicycle tours. Light weight and good heating. I store it in a 600 ml titanium cup to protect it during my rides. I thought about giving it a 4 because of storage and no igniter.

Blade 2 Titanium Backpacking Stove

This remote canister stove fulfills a lot of what I was looking for in a backpacking stove - lightweight, inverted canister for liquid feed to sip fuel, simmer capability, fine tune valve for cooking popcorn without burning. Yes, you read correctly - I can make popcorn in the backcountry without burning it on this stove! As much as I love this evolution of the Blade series stove, the valve at canister needs improvement. While it can be used inverted, it should have a stand and long tuning handle to make flame adjustments easier outside of windscreen - which is how this stove is supposed to be used. I changed out the Blade 2 canister valve with the valve from MSR WindPro™ II Stove. MSR's valve is much better suited for a remote, inverted setup with the canister stand and the threads on MSR valve are the same size as Firemaple's Blade 2. This makes a great setup! An improvement over that would be a folding stand for better packability. Firemaple, hope you read this!

So far I have had it out 4 or 5 times. The simplicity of it is wonderful. The flame control is in a persfect spot for accessibility and has worked to controll from a hard boil to a simple simmer.
I have carried it on day hikes and multiple overnights and so far I love it.

The stove is great, quality is absolutely amazing. However the stove end gas pipe connector feels extremely hot after use which is a big concern for me

I have many stoves burning different fuels and they all fit different needs. Hoping the Blade2 will be an awesome lightweight backpacking solution for some upcoming trips!
