Polaris 1L Pressure-Regulated Cooking System

Exactly as advertised. Water heats quickly, the unit breaks down easily and fits together well. Haven't used it in extreme cold or wind yet, but plan on purchasing the wind guard just because it'll be nice to have just in case.

Excellent camping kitchen for two people. Inside the Kazanca, a burner, a 230-gram gas cylinder, and a cylinder stand can be placed.

I received my fire maple stove in a very reasonable time. I had to email the company shortly after purchasing due to ordering the wrong colour. The response was fast and i am pleased to own the requested colour.
The stove is a fantastic piece of kit and i highly recommend it.
My only gripe is the packaging could be much better, and my images show the damage to the box. Unfortunately i think this has caused the pot to be ever so slightly compressed which makes inserting the stove part for storaging inside the pot difficult although a gentle squeeze from left to right of the handle helps achieve this.
Despite this i'm happy with it.

What a handy and beautiful set! Complete, and with electronic ignition. The color is also wonderful. The gas cartridge (which was not included) fits in it. The connection is standard, so it fits the gas cans I can get here. Delivered very quickly. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it will fit well because it looks good. Thank you! Express delivery in 4 days. Everything arrived intact and in good condition. Completely satisfied with the ergonomics and functionality. And this blue print is so pleasing to the eye. Under the lid, 600 ml "Spa" bowls fit, so that the entire camping kitchen fits into the included net.

We've been wanting to replace the burner with a more compact one for a long time, saw something similar from friends and decided it was time. Everything arrived intact and safe, although there was only the factory box in the package and a delivery black bag on top, that's all. The box is slightly wrinkled, but nothing inside was damaged. The burner itself is excellent, compact and beautiful. The cover on the cup can be replaced with another if this one wears out or becomes unappealing. Haven't tried it yet, but on first impression everything seems high-quality and should work well. If anything, I will add to the review.

Not so cheap, but the quality is really good. Bigger than i expected.

What in the world would I do without this thing? It goes on every single hike and camping trip. The fuel and everything just pop into the pot and lock down. It might not be the smallest option for backpacking and hiking, but it's the closest to being the most complete kit for it. Coffee, tea, oats, freeze-dried meals, soup, whatever you want. Even boiling water for a hot shower in the woods. I don't know what I'd do without this thing, for my solo adventures or when I have a group. The best part is that it's a fraction of the cost of a Jetboil and HAS A REAL HANDLE THAT LOCKS INTO PLACE!

Had it against a jetboil for 3 days camping. Jetboil is smaller. Could coffee up 3 ppl and still have enough for boil in bag breakfast. Plus it was 50 bucks cheaper. Lasted a hard riding adv bike trip on my KTM. Needless to say, it works, it lasted, and was cheaper.

I love this burner. Totally premium in all aspects and smooth almost aircraft aluminum with a beautiful neoprene cover, I got the blue. Was very easy for me to set up and use and gotta love a push-button ignition. Fits back into a nice drawstring sack. A good way to heat up a cup of instant coffee when you get to that viewpoint first thing as the sun is starting to come up. Seriously easy to use.

I've been using an older Fire Maple cooking system for the past couple of years. It's a model called the X2 and it's a bit cheaper than this model at $70. Read more about it here:

The X2 has been a really effective & affordable alternative to Jetboil. I've taken that thing backpacking into the Smokey Mountains, on bikepacking trips, and family camping at state parks. I've come to love my X2, so I consider the Fire Maple brand pretty trustworthy. When I saw this new Polaris model, I thought it LOOKED almost exactly the same, but I was curious whether it would be any better in practice. Here's what I learned.

** COOKING PERFORMANCE **
I recently tested the Polaris cooking system against my old X2 to see how quickly they each boil 1 liter of water. For both systems, I started with 1 liter of room temperature water, then took them outdoors to boil. It was a December day in Ohio, so the outdoor temp was around 40F.

The X2 boiled its 1 liter of water in about 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Not too bad. Similar to some older Jetboil models.

Shockingly, the Polaris boiled its 1 liter of water in about 3 minutes and 30 seconds! Wow, that's fast! I mean, that might even be faster than the Jetboil Flash, based on reviews I've read. And the Polaris keeps the ability to fine tune to heat output by twisting a little gas flow regulator.

Both the X2 and the Polaris come with an attachment you can use to turn the stove into an open flame you can use with any cook pot, rather than being stuck with just the water boiler. I've only used that option rarely, but it's nice to have the flexibility.

** SIZE **
The biggest downside to the Polaris is its size. It's slightly larger and heavier than the X2, which itself was already a little larger and heavier than some compact Jetboil models.

When completely packed up, it's about 8 inches tall and just under 5 inches wide. Without a fuel canister, it weighs in at about 23 oz / 650 grams. For me, that's just barely acceptable for a short term backpacking trip.

Really, this cooking system is best when it's being shared by at least 2 people. If you're only cooking for yourself and you really want to save weight and space, there are certainly smaller / lighter options out there.

** SUMMARY **
Considering my good experience with the Fire Maple brand, and the relatively low cost of this system, I think this is a strong option for camp cooking. You could pay a lot more for a Jetboil and maybe you'd get a system that's a bit smaller or lighter, but I doubt it would be much faster. If you're on a budget but still want a fast, reliable cook system, the Polaris is a winner.

I was going to buy the more expensive well known brand but based on the reviews here I went for this. Thank god! I've saved myself a bundle for an excellent product. It does sound like a jet engine but that's quite entertaining and definitely a conversation starter.

My friend brought his brief case style gas stove to the festival and after it and the ground around it caught fire he shared my little jet engine.

Don't be a brand snob - this is perfect.
