Does it have a built-in lighter?

Yes. It features a built-in piezoelectric ignition system. You simply open the gas valve and press the button to spark the flame—no lighter or matches required.

What type of fuel does it use?

It is natively compatible with standard threaded isobutane-propane canisters (EN417).

Why choose a "remote" stove over a top-mounted stove?

Stability and safety. A remote stove sits much lower to the ground, making it far less likely to tip over when cooking with heavy frying pans or large pots. Additionally, because the gas canister is separated from the burner by a hose, you can safely wrap a metal windscreen around the stove to block the wind—something that is highly dangerous to do with top-mounted stoves as it can overheat the canister.
