Why should I choose this remote stove over a smaller canister-top stove?

Safety and Stability.
Because the stove sits directly on the ground rather than perched high up on a fuel canister, it has a much lower center of gravity. You can stir a heavy pot of stew without holding the handle for fear of it tipping over.

Can I use the gas canister upside down for winter? (⚠️ SAFETY WARNING)

No. The FMS-125 PRO is designed for UPRIGHT canister use only.
Why: This stove does not utilize a preheat tube loop. Inverting the canister would send liquid fuel directly to the burner, causing a dangerous, uncontrollable yellow flare-up. Do I need a separate windscreen?

In most 3-season cases, no. The burner head features a sunken design with a built-in micro-windshield ring, meaning the flame sits inside a protected cup. However, for extremely windy open ridges, a separate foil windscreen is always a good backup.

Is it highly durable?

Yes. Constructed from thick-gauge stainless steel and aluminum, it is designed to withstand heavy impacts in your backpack. Weighing 9.6 oz (273g), it is slightly heavier than ultralight titanium stoves, but the trade-off is superior ruggedness and pot support strength.
