What is this used for?

It is used to remove small blockages from the fuel jet of a compatible Orange Gas Lantern when gas flow becomes weak or irregular.

A weak or flickering flame is not always caused by a blocked jet. Low fuel pressure, cold temperatures, an almost empty canister, or damaged components can produce similar symptoms.

How do I clean the lantern jet?

Close the lantern valve, detach the fuel canister, and allow every component to cool completely.

Follow the lantern instructions to access the jet. Insert the cleaning wire gently without forcing, twisting, or scraping it against the opening. Remove the wire and reassemble the lantern before reconnecting fuel.

Never clean the jet while the lantern is lit, hot, or attached to a fuel canister.

Can I use a sewing needle or safety pin instead?

No. Household needles and pins may be thicker than the lantern jet opening. Forcing one into the jet can deform or enlarge the opening and affect gas flow.

How often should I clean the jet?

Only clean it when a blockage is suspected. It is not necessary after every use.

If the flame remains irregular after gentle cleaning, stop using the lantern and inspect the fuel supply and lantern components instead of repeatedly probing the jet.
