How does the steaming function work?

Add water or food with sufficient liquid to the lower pot, then place the steamer basket and lid above it.

As the lower pot heats, rising steam cooks the food inside the basket. Keep the liquid level below the steamer and check it during longer cooking sessions so the pot does not boil dry.

Can I cook and steam at the same time?

Yes.

You can cook rice, soup, noodles, or boil water in the lower pot while steaming vegetables, eggs, buns, or dumplings above.

The two levels share one burner, so their temperatures cannot be controlled independently. Choose foods with compatible cooking times or add the steamer basket partway through cooking.

Will food from the steamer drip into the lower pot?

Some condensation and food juices may drip from the basket into the pot below.

Pair foods whose flavors work together, or use plain water in the lower pot when you do not want flavors to mix.

Can I use the 1L pot without the steamer?

Yes. Remove the steamer basket and use the lower pot by itself for boiling water, noodles, soup, rice, oatmeal, and other simple camp meals.

Can I use the steamer basket directly over a stove?

No.

The Tritan steamer basket must sit above the aluminum pot. Never place it directly over a burner, flame, heating el
