Will this tent fit my existing camping cot?

The Tropics 1 tent floor is sized 215x80cm (84.6x31.5 in). It fits perfectly on the Firemaple Tropics Cot or other wide/oversized cots.

- If your cot is smaller (standard size approx. 190x65cm), the tent will still function, but the floor edges may hang over the sides slightly.

How does the tent attach to the cot?

It features a secure, slip-proof design. The tent corners are equipped with elastic sleeves and adjustable buckle straps. Simply slide the sleeves over the cot corners and tighten the straps underneath to lock the tent firmly in place, ensuring it won't slide off during the night.

Is the tent ultralight?

At 3.9 lbs (1.75 kg), it is a lightweight shelter built for durability and comfort rather than extreme weight savings. The robust 20D fabric and spacious structure offer better longevity and headroom than fragile ultralight tents.

Can I set up the rainfly first?

Yes! The versatile design allows for a "Fly-First" pitch. You can set up the rainfly first to create a dry shelter in the rain, then clip in the inner tent from the inside to keep your sleeping gear dry.

I am over 6ft (183cm) tall. Will I fit inside?

Absolutely. The inner tent is 84.6 inches (215 cm) long, providing ample legroom. Plus, the roof's cross-pole design pushes the walls outward, giving you plenty of headroom to sit up comfortably without brushing against the mesh.

How waterproof is this tent?

It is built for 3-season weather. The rainfly is made of 20D Nylon with a PU3000 waterproof coating. It is fully capable of handling heavy rain and wind.
