Do I need the Tropics Cot to use this tent?

No. The tent can be pitched directly on the ground as a conventional solo shelter. The cot is an optional way to create an elevated sleeping setup.

Which camping cots does it fit?

Compatibility is guaranteed only with the Fire Maple Tropics Cot. Other cots may have different dimensions, corner shapes, or frame layouts even when their listed sleeping area is similar.

Can I pitch the rainfly first?

Yes. The pole and rainfly structure can be set up first, allowing you to attach the mesh inner beneath the covered fly.

Will it fit someone over 6 ft tall?

The listed floor length is 84.6 in (215 cm), which works for many users around or above 6 ft. Usable sleeping length still depends on your sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and body position.

Is this an ultralight tent?

No. At 3.9 lb (1.75 kg), it prioritizes interior space, weather coverage, and cot compatibility over minimum pack weight.

I used it in a recent camping trip, worked like a charm! Previously, I used to use Coleman stove to boil water to make coffee and it took a long time especially in higher elevations. But with this cooking system, I had boiling water real fast. It is a quality piece of gear and you will not be disappointed!

Good quality and very light.

Lightweight and durable. It’s a staple of my gear. Perfect cup of coffee size. I would suggest that if you get this you should also go buy “hot lips” from Garage Grown Gear. It will allow you not to burn your lips on the hot hot rim of this cup. It’s hard to complain about this cup getting so hot because that’s what it’s supposed to do, it’s titanium but the hot lips accessory is critical to me fully enjoying it. This boiled water quickly. This did spit and splash boilibg water when filled too high, be careful. The lid is a weak point. The nubs don't seal the lid closed they just hinder the lid. One fell of in trasport day one. I like the handle and spout. The stove did not make the handle hot but I was curious to see if it would. I have figured out how to use it and it helps me make great tea. The size is perfect.

In combination with the 600ml and the 350ml cookware this stove fits the tri slots with the tri legs. I had a snow peak which l love but it has 4 supports and it wascalwas a balance act. I have used it in the summer with no issues...l look forward to using it in the fall.
