Is this cot difficult to assemble?

It utilizes a lever-lock tension system. While the first assembly might require a firm press to lock the 4 cross-struts ("Long Legs") into place, this tension is exactly what keeps the sleeping surface tight and sag-free. Once you get the hang of the leverage, setup takes just a few minutes.

How do I switch between High and Low modes?

- Low Mode (7.5"): Attach the 4 cross-struts directly to the side poles. This mode is perfect for fitting inside the Tropics 1 Tent.

- High Mode (15.4"): Insert the included leg extensions ("Short Legs") into the strut hubs. This raises the bed to bench height, making it easier to sit down and stand up.

Can I take this backpacking?

We don't recommend it for hiking. At 8.42 lbs (3.82 kg), this cot is built for comfort and durability, making it ideal for car camping, motorcycle touring, or basecamps where weight is less of a concern than a good night's sleep.

Does it really fit inside the Tropics 1 Tent?

Yes, perfectly. The cot dimensions (215x80cm) are matched exactly to the Tropics 1 Tent floor. In Low Mode, the tent fits snugly over the cot without pressing against the mesh walls, maximizing your interior space.

What is the weight limit?

The frame is reinforced with 4 heavy-duty aluminum cross-struts, supporting a static load of up to 330 lbs (150 kg).

Will the cot legs damage my tent floor?

The cot feet are capped with rounded, anti-slip rubber pads designed to minimize abrasion. However, when using any cot inside a tent, we highly recommend placing a blanket, rug under the legs to provide extra protection for your tent floor.
