Does the Star X1 come with a pot support stand?

The standard Star X1 kit includes the burner, the 1-liter heat exchanger pot, a lid, and a canister stand.

Note: It does not include the extra "Pot Support Adapter" (used for cooking with non-system pans). If you plan to use a frying pan or a regular pot on this stove, we highly recommend adding the FireMaple X-Series Pot Stand to your order.

What is the difference between the Star X1 and the Star X2?

The Star X1 is our simplified, budget-friendly model.

- Handle: The X1 uses a standard folding wire handle, while the X2 features a more rigid, locking handle design.

- Lid: The X1 has a soft TPE lid, whereas the X2 uses a transparent lid.

- Accessories: The X2 includes the Pot Support Adapter; the X1 does not. Both boil water at the same speed!

Can I use a frying pan with the Star X1?

Only if you have the Pot Support Adapter. Without it, the X1 burner is designed specifically to lock into the X1 pot. Placing a flat frying pan directly on the burner head without the adapter is unstable and not recommended.

Does a 230g (large) fuel canister fit inside the pot?

You can fit a 230g canister inside the pot for transport, but the burner will not fit in at the same time.

- Ideal Setup: For a fully self-contained system (burner + fuel + stand all inside), we recommend using a 110g (small) canister. This allows the lid to close perfectly, keeping your pack organized.

My piezo igniter isn't sparking. What should I do?

First, ensure the small metal electrode is bent slightly so it is about 3-4mm away from the burner mesh.
If it still doesn't spark (which can happen at very high altitudes or in damp conditions), the Star X1 is easily lit with a standard lighter or flint steel. Always carry a backup lighter.

Can I simmer food (like rice or pasta) in this?

The Star X1 is a "boiling beast" optimized for speed. It has an on/off valve that is best for boiling water for freeze-dried meals or coffee. While you can try to simmer by carefully turning the valve just slightly open, it requires constant attention to prevent burning food at the bottom.
