What type of fuel does it let me use?

It successfully converts the output from Nozzle-type (Cassette) Butane Canisters (the long aerosol cans shaped like hairspray) to a standard EN417 Lindal Valve thread. These cassette canisters are often a fraction of the price of isobutane hiking gas and are much easier to find in standard grocery stores.

Is it stable enough for heavy pots?

Yes. The adapter features a low center of gravity and wide, foldable stainless steel legs. It safely supports the weight of the stove and pot (up to approx. 22 lbs / 10 kg), keeping the setup completely secure even with the long fuel canister laying flat on the ground to the side.

Can I use pure butane in cold weather? (⚠️ SAFETY WARNING)

Use with caution. The adapter itself functions perfectly in the cold, but pure butane (from the long cassette canisters) does not vaporize well in temperatures near or below freezing (32°F / 0°C). For winter camping, we highly recommend switching back to isobutane/propane mixed fuel in standard threaded canisters.
