I thought was big size . Works fine for single coffee.
Perfect addition to my camp cooking equipment. I have 3 different sizes for getting the job done.
When my family goes car camping we cook almost exclusively over fire or we use coals with a camp Dutch oven. However, it's nice to have something to cook on under a canopy when it rains and to rapidly get the coffee going first thing in the morning. So I was looking for a compact, high output, sturdy/stable stove to put in our kit. This sits very low to the table with a very wide pot rest, this sturdy setup is nice when you have small children running around and bumping tables. I can put a 10-in Dutch oven on this thing and saute veggies no problem. Back in the day we used to use the classic two burner gas camp stove; for anyone who does that, I would recommend grabbing two of these instead and saving room when packing up the family in the car. I have a backpacking stove, backpacking pot, and multiple gas lanterns from fire Maple. I think some of their designs are pretty novel and their price is pretty hard to beat.
This is a great product. Sturdy, compact, and boils in minutes. I also had excellent customer service after purchase.
Excellent pot, feels like it heats up many times faster than with a regular bottom. Universal in terms of compatibility with burners. Delivery took 18 days from the date of purchase.
Better than the other guy, will buy again but the one I have now should last awhile.
Great portable stove. It works really well and is reliable. I carry on my side by side for hot meals when cold weather riding.
Haven't put them through the true test yet a little worried if they'll be durable over time but very lightweight and seem to be well built so we will see
Thus far I have made only one cup of coffee with the filter. I bought it to replace foldable paper filters which I have been using but are not always possible to find. It is well made and sits on the mug just fine . I was curious if the grounds would dump out or need to be washed out . They seem to come out okay. I will try using a coarse grind next time to see if that makes a difference. All in all I think it is a well made addition to my camping/ traveling gear .
This is a well-made camp kettle, heats evenly and looks great. Pretty lightweight sturdy.
Great reviews are made up of several parts. Product and Service. Fire Maple scores on both criteria.
I'm a camper. Like most of us, I like gear. Most of it is necessary and some of it is just some fun/aesthetic/cool stuff. Fire Maple is not necessarily the gear I would pack if I was lean to camping with a couple friends, but it's absolutely the gear I'd pack if I wanted a campsite with some ambience for my GF and I,it wanted some nice gear to put in the yard.
The gear is high quality and made with an attention to detail. It works well and is easy to use. That's all you can really ask for.
Service is important. I have a ordered a bunch of things from them and never had a problem except for this last order. The box was damaged and the case of my orange lantern was cracked. YES they wanted confirmation pictures. I provided and then we went back and forth about what would be done to rectify. Once it was agreed upon the replacement went out.
They were responsive, understanding, covered their bases and were customer focused. It all took place via email, it was rapid and easy.
If you want sharp looking and functional gear, then Fire Maple is the way to go. Equally important, if you want to do Internet based business with a company that stands by and supports their products, again, Fire Maple is for you.
For a French press it works great. The biggest issue I have is the top is difficult to put on and if not fully seated coffee leaks everywhere.
Just returned from a backpacking trip to Yosemite.
The pot worked beautifully. No burnt fingers, French press was a great luxury.
My setup was Soto windmaster with three leg support and G3 pot with neoprene sleeve.
Very lightweight, weighs only 168 grams. Tried to boil 600 ml of water (in home conditions), the BRS3000T took 5.05 minutes to do so. The lid comes off easily after boiling. For one or two people on a hike, such an ultra-light setup should be sufficient.
It cooks rice very well and seems like a great pot for backpacking and hiking. I do recommend letting it off-gas and boiling water in it a few times before your first use if you notice any manufacturing odor.
I'd also suggest practicing cooking rice at home before taking it on a hike. Every pot cooks a little differently, and it's much easier to figure out the right water ratio and cooking time in your kitchen than when you're out on the trail. That way you'll have the best experience when it really counts.
Nice little cook set which is well made. For packing it holds a small burner and gas canister. (Both the burner and canister are your choice and not included in the pot set.)
Initial problems with connecting hose to Australian cylinders due to incompatible rubber bit - Australian canisters have already a rubber seal and the two are not compatible making the hose unusable.
Replaced with rounded rubber bit from hardware store and since working well.
Do - 3 stars due to issue- but otherwise good gear as always.
Pot looks well made, and the cover fits well. using the petrel titanium stove got 750ml to a rolling boil in just 1:35. amazing performance. the neoprene cover may get slightly singed on the edges but that’s okay. great aftersales service from firemaple on a shipping issue.
It fits perfectly with G2 and G3 and feels stable. I feel that the ramen pot might be a bit unstable, so I've also purchased an adapter to use it with CB cans. It would be perfect if the titanium burner arrives soon, but it hasn't arrived yet.
